For
students without previous college courses or those desiring
additional assistance for public speaking and professional
writing, a course of study is designed to improve the effectiveness
of communication in ministry. Each
course lasts 3 months and is worth 9 credits.
Professional Speaking
Effective Presentation Planning and Oral Delivery Methods. This
course emphasizes professionalism in public speaking and presentation
skills; provides instruction in practical methods of speech composition,
organizational patterns, and effective oral delivery methods
and strategies.
English Composition
This course focuses on the expository writing process, stresses
organization, coherence, structure, mechanics, and the fundamental
principles of critical reading and effective, college-level research
and writing.
